Leadership Team
Jesse D. Hurley – Chief Executive Officer & Co-Founder
Jesse leads the company in providing market and technology vision, having co-founded the company in 2005 with Seth Voltz. A member of the board of directors of the North American Energy Standards Board and chair of its critical infrastructure committee, he facilitates standards development in the electric and gas utility sector for cybersecurity and critical infrastructure protection. Jesse is co-inventor on 137 pending US utility patent applications in cloud computing, network security, and the employment of intelligent software agents. He attended WPI on a merit fellowship from DARPA where he majored in chemistry and economics, focusing on nanomaterials development and the economics of intellectual property.
Frederick Rucker – Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Rucker provides Shift with a proven track record of success and experience managing multi-billion dollar product and service portfolios during his 20 years of senior leadership roles at Bell Canada, Sprint, AT&T and Global One. With deep domain knowledge in the disciplines of sales, marketing, business development, strategy and technical operations, Mr. Rucker has consistently guided entities ranging from start-ups to large corporations, toward financial and operational success.
Seth M.L. Voltz – Chief Technology Officer & Co-Founder
Seth joined Jesse Hurley to co-found the company in 2005. Since then he has been responsible for existing product development and functional prototypes, leading scale-out and forward product R&D with development staff. Seth is co-inventor on 137 patents covering a broad base of technology, including cybersecurity, networking, content distribution, and cloud computing. He attended WPI and received his Bachelors of Science in Computer Science in 2005.
Stacy J. Brandenburg – VP Global Network Operations
Mr. Brandenburg's brings to the Shift Research team over 15 years of industry experience in various operations and IT management roles. He brings a solid mix of leadership and broad understanding of technical IT operations to the Shift team. He has been responsible for the architectural design and support of global infrastructures for companies like Red Hat Inc and GoDaddy.com. At Red Hat, Mr. Brandenburg was responsible for all Data Centers as well as the global communications systems that supported both the company and its customers in a highly demanding environment. His leadership and commitment to operational excellence, understanding of global communications needs, and aptitude for analyzing situations and resolving problems provides the solid base from which Shift Research offers its customers value.
In addition to his experience managing IT Operations, he holds Bachelors of Science Degrees in both Electrical Engineering and Aerospace Engineering from Embry-Riddle University.
